With the recent unprecedented demand for COVID PCR testing severely congesting the system, the Government has now changed its recommendations as to who should be getting PCR tests. Because of this (and the lack of available Rapid antigen Tests), the hospital has decided that COVID testing prior to attending is no longer required for physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and gym sessions.

The guidelines for attendance are now simply:

  • Do not attend if you or your household members are unwell, or you have been notified that you are a close contact of a COVID-positive case.
  • A surgical mask covering your mouth and nose must be worn at all times. Cloth masks are not permitted.
  • Hand hygiene must be performed upon entering the treatment room / hydro pool area / gym using the hand sanitiser provided.
  • Please adhere to physical distancing from other attendees as much as possible.

Thankfully these more simple, common sense guidelines are easier to follow and implement and will allow everyone to return to their exercise and physio programs.
